The April 2014 monthly general meeting of the Association is this Tuesday (15/04/2014) at 6.30pm sharp. The venue is the Dewey Common, Bastow Institute, 601 Queensberry Street, North Melbourne (enter from Union Street to the west with access for all).
We advise that David Mayes, Manager Strategic Planning with the City of Melbourne, will talk about the new Neighbourhood Residential Zones at 6.30pm sharp.
The new Neighbourhood Residential Zone is being offered by the Minister of Planning as the strongest level of protection of three residential zones.
The recommendation presented at a recent City of Melbourne Future Melbourne meeting and at public information sessions was that no residential areas in the municipality be placed into the Neighbourhood Residential Zone. In contrast, the Cities of Yarra, Port Phillip and Moreland have recommended that between 50% and 80% of their residential areas be allocated to this new Neighbourhood Residential Zone.
This is a very important issue for our community. Please attend.
